| WISCASSET RACEWAY RAINS OUT... 2006 SEASON ENDS |
|
Wiscasset Raceway's 2006 season came to a disappointing end Saturday afternoon with yet another cancellation due to rain, dealing a final blow in an otherwise promising year. Saturday's show was the final date on the track's schedule, with championships on the line in five of six divisions but Wiscasset Raceway VP Tammy Reynolds announced that due to upcoming scheduling conflicts, the race will not be made up, thus ending the 2006 season. With the 8th cancelled program of the year, Wiscasset lost 1/3 of it's 24-race season schedule to the weather. "When we have been racing, it's been one of our best seasons in a long time" said track announcer Ken Minott. "Car counts have been up and remained consistent in all divisions. The crowds have been very good, and the race action has been spectacular. It's a really tough way to end the year, but I'm already looking forward to 2007."
