Return to Canaan, NH next stop for Can-Am RMR Series, Presented by the New England Dodge Dealers

Posted in: Latest News | | No Comments »>

DERRY, NH (July 3, 2008) - As powersports enthusiasts around
the northeast soak up some sun and hit the trails, ATV racing is the
perfect way to add sizzle to their summer. Teams and officials from
Rock Maple Racing (RMR) are anxiously preparing for Round 5 on the
10-race 2008 Can-Am schedule on Sunday, July 13, at the beautiful
River’s Edge Campground and ATV Park in Canaan, New Hampshire.
Spectator gates will open at 8 a.m., and racing will get under
way promptly at 9 a.m. Admission is $10 for adults, while children age
10 and under will be admitted free with a paying adult. This great
facility was one of the original host sites for the Quad-X series in
the fall of 2006. For teams interested in learning the track early,
there will be an open practice session on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4
p.m. for $25 per rider.
The day’s program will begin with qualifying action for all
classes. These qualifying races allow riders to learn quick lines
around the challenging track. It all builds to an exciting climax at
roughly 1 p.m. as Finals for all classes begin.
New this year for the Can-Am Series is a division between East
and West points races, much like RMR does with its snocross programs.
This makes it easier for teams to run for points titles without the
added expense of extra travel. This will be a points race for East
series teams.
Also new is the addition of a five-round series for “Pit
Bikes,” which have become so popular in the last few years. There will
be eight classes, broken down for Pro and Amateur riders and for
10-inch or 12-inch wheel diameter. RMR will partner with the Pit Bike
Racing Association (PBRA) to bring this exciting new class into the
mix.
In the series’ first four rounds of competition, former
Canadian national champion Jasmin Plante, Matt Pomeroy, James Stowell,
Brian Daigle and Jason Rayder have all posted Pro division victories.
Plante swept the season opener at Hemond’s MX Park in Minot, Maine,
(May 11), Pomeroy and Stowell split the finals in Rounds 2 and 3 at
Twister Valley (May 18) and Crow Hill Motor Sports Park (June 1),
while Daigle and Rayder split the Pro finals in Round 4 at Thornwood
MX (June 22).
When the series last visited Canaan in August of 2006, Alex
Moreau and Keene native Andrew Patnode registered victories in their
respective divisions. Moreau, who raced snocross last winter for Team
Cycle Worx in RMR’s Central series, claimed the Pro Open final while
Patnode held off his brother Daniel to claim the A Unlimited final.
Other winners on that day include Andrew Ruel, of nearby
Enfield, N.H., who posted wins in the Production Lites and 0-90cc
Unlimited classes. RMR snocross veteran Michaela Lemieux, of
Bennington, VT, rode to a solid second place finish behind Ruel in the
Production Lites final. Ruel is enjoying a great start to his 2008
season with four wins to his credit.
Rock Maple Racing is presented by your New England Dodge
Dealers, who urge you to stop by today and see the full line of 2008

Pepsi Fireworks to Ring in Independence Holiday at Thunder Road

Posted in: Latest News | | No Comments »>

BARRE, VT ? There will be fireworks on the track and in the air
at Barre’s Thunder Road on Thursday (July
3) as Pepsi presents the annual Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular
at the “Nation’s Site of Excitement.”
Thrilling stock car racing action from four divisions will begin at
6:30pm, followed by a massive fireworks
display, considered by many to be the best in Central Vermont each year.
In the American-Canadian Tour Late Model division, Hyde Park
driver Eric Williams clings to a narrow four-
point leader of Northfield’s Cris Michaud, 267-263. Michaud has won
the last two Thunder Road events with
Williams finishing second each time, including last week’s CARQUEST VT
Governor’s Cup 100. John Donahue of
Graniteville makes the battle a fierce three-way contest, as he sits
just nine points behind Williams at 258.
Former “King of the Road” Track Champions Dave Pembroke (239 pts.) and
Phil Scott (237) complete the top five
runners.
Cambridge racer Craig Bushey paces the NAPA Tiger Sportsman
division by 22 points over Hinesburg’s Tom
Therrien, 348-326. Pete Ainsworth of Middlesex is third (311), with
veteran Joey Laquerre just two points back
(309) and Scott Coburn only three points behind (308).
Allen Lumber Street Stock driver Jason Corliss of Plainfield
used a victory in last week’s event to
springboard into his division’s point lead. He leads North Troy
driver David Allen by nine points, 354-345.
Lloyd Blakely (335), Mike Martin (333), and Erik Steel (317) complete
the top five in order.
Wolcott’s Jamie Davis has parlayed two victories into a
39-point advantage over Travis Hull of
Graniteville in the Power Shift Online Junkyard Warrior class
(469-430). Neal Foster (422), Scott Weston (414),
and Mike Gay (413) are still very much within striking distance.
The Pepsi Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular begins at
6:30pm on Thursday, July 3. General admission
is just $9.50 for adults, $3 for children (6-12), and only $20 for a
Family ticket, good for any two adults and
two kids. Gates open at 5:00pm. For more information, call (802)

Y ATTRACTS IMPRESSIVE LINEUP

THOMPSON, CT. Thompson International Speedway’s Full Fender Frenzy is
attracting an impressive lineup of race teams from both the NASCAR
Camping World East Series as well as the Pro All Star Series (PASS).
The very best race teams from both of these touring divisions will be
on hand for the Saturday, July 12th, event.

The NASCAR Camping World East lineup will include current
points leader Austin Dillon. Local favorite, Matt Kobyluck is second
in the points standings and he is expected to run very well at
Thompson, his home track. Steve Park, who for many years was a very
popular competitor at Thompson, has joined the Camping World East
Series and will join other top competitors like Bryon Chew, Jeffrey
Earnhardt, and Eddie MacDonald. This exciting NASCAR division has
developed a large fan base and will be competing in a one hundred lap
main event on the evening of Saturday, July 12th.

The NASCAR Camping World East division started as a
development series for NASCAR but has turned into its own highly
competitive racing series with an ever-increasing reputation for
extremely intense competition.

Thompson’s Full Fender Frenzy is like a magnet for the Pro
All Star Series. PASS competitors look forward to their annual
appearance at the big, 5/8ths mile, Thompson Speedway. PASS fans can
expect to see Mike and Ben Rowe, Cassius Clark, Rick Martin, Kelly
Moore and many more of the driving stars that make the PASS series so
exciting and successful.

Thompson’s incredible Late Models, Limited Sportsman and
Mini Stocks will also play a big part in the Full Fender Frenzy race
program. Jeff Zuidema, Marc Palmisano, Rick Gentes, Jay Stuart and
Tommy O’Sullivan make up the top five in the latest Late Model points
standings and each is expected to be on hand along with more than
twenty other tough Late Model competitors.

The thrilling Limited Sportsman division will feature
Scott Sundeen, Larry Barnett, Ed Puleo, Jesse Gleason, Joe Arena and
many more in their twenty lap main. The points battle in this division
is a real horse race and both Sundeen and Barnett hope to emerge from
the Full Fender Frenzy event with a significant points advantage. As
of this writing, Sundeen holds a two-point advantage over Barnett.

Mike Romano will lead the field of Mini Stocks in a
fifteen lap feature event. Romano has been strong all season. However,
Leo Defevers, Chuck Rogers, Roger Ducharme and Billy Pomposelli are
all looking to stop the Romano express.

Grandstands will open at 12:30 PM and qualifying is slated
for 4:15 PM. The first of five feature races is scheduled for a 6:00
PM start. The full schedule and more information may be found on the
Thompson Speedway web site. www.thompsonspeedway.com

SPEEDWAY 95 NEWS RELEASE July 1st, 2008

Posted in: Latest News | | No Comments »>

(Hermon, Me) Speedway 95 held a press conference Tuesday morning, July
1st at the track to announce that owners Del Merritt, and Alice Baker
had entered into an agreement with Wayne Elston, to bring Wayne into
the fold, as co-promoter of Maine’s Family Fun Track, Speedway 95,
effective as of now, through the end of the season in 2010. Elston
brings with his, his 26 years of racecar driving experience, and 40
years of involvement with the sport.

“This should squash all rumors that we’re closing,” said co-owner Del
Merritt. “Cause we’re definitely not closing. We’ll stick around.”
Merritt’s plan with Elston coming on board, is that the track will be
able to court more sponsors, and might soon be able to raise the
winners purse in each of the divisions, to help offset the cost of
gas, and the sluggish economy. “We are hoping we can get both our
Saturday night and Wednesday night cars picked up,” stated Merritt.
“If we have to make any major decisions… it will not be made until
July 12th, that gives us two Wednesdays, and Two Saturdays.”

“I need help from the drivers, owners, and the people that sit in the
stands,” Elston announced, soliciting comments, questions, and idea’s
from everyone. ” You can not put on a race without the fans, the
owners, and the people… Tell us what is wrong, and we’ll try to
improve it… I am going to concentrate, on getting the excitement
back.”

Catch the action on Wednesday July 2nd at 7pm for Varney GMC Wacky
Wednesday - Just 5 bucks to get in, and then on Saturday July 5th at 7
for regular weekend plus the second race in the three race Sport-Four
Series, for just $6, at Maine’s Family Fun Track?. Speedway 95!

PASS North Super Late Models and Mods return to The Ridge Saturday

Posted in: Latest News | | No Comments »>

Naples ME ? (July 1, 2008) The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North super
late models pay their second 2008 visit to Beech Ridge Motor Speedway
in Scarborough Maine on Saturday July 5th, amid one of the tightest
points races in the series’ eight year history.

Ben Rowe is in a familiar spot for the four time series titlist. He’s
on top of the standings after four completed PASS North SLM events and
there’s no doubt that the series all time winner is on a drive for
five PASS super late model championships. But, there are plenty of
challengers hot on Ben’s heels. Cassius Clark trails Rowe by just
seven points (985 versus 978) in the title chase, and Travis Benjamin
(964), D.J. Shaw (953) and Adam Bates (943) have all shown the kind of
early season consistency that championships are made of.

There have been four different winners in the first four PASS North
Super Late Model races, and a fifth could easily claim victory in
Saturday’s PASS 150. It will be tough to top the finish at the Beech
Ridge PASS North opener though, when Mike Rowe beat son Ben across the
line by just one-one hundredth of a second for the win, with Travis
Benjamin a half car length behind the pair in third.

Beech Ridge regular Bub Bilodeau ran up front in the PASS Cabin Fever
150, finishing fifth in the season opener. There are plenty of weekly
Pro Series ridge runners who are capable of challenging the touring
pros on their home turf, and it’s likely that several will be up for
the challenge.

Beech Ridge always serves up some of the closest racing on the PASS
North circuit and it’s a guarantee that there will be plenty of
fireworks on the race track. Saturday night is the final extra
distance PASS tune-up for Septembers’ PASS 400 weekend National
Championship event, so expect a few surprise entrants and a full field
of the fastest full fendered race cars around to be on hand for this
one.

Andy Shaw will look to repeat his opening day win in the PASS Mods and
the speedways’ own Wildcats, Sport Series, and Roadrunners will
complete the five division program. The Beech Ridge pit area opens at
noon, Grandstands at 2:00 PM and the race track goes green at 6:30 PM
sharp.

-by Justin St. Louis

You used to hear ? and may still ? your uncle get into a little “bench
race” about the glory days of short track
stock car racing. Fields full of race cars. Drivers from all over
the map. Good, hard, honest rivalries that
made fans cheer, boo, argue, and high-five. And then he’ll wonder
where the years went, and what went wrong with
racing.

Do your uncle a favor and bring him to a race at Thunder Road. Sit
with him and point out three cars: One white
and green with orange 6’s on the doors, another red and black with
grey 7’s and a little “VT” next to them, the
third a stars-and-stripes #26. Introduce him to the names Cris
Michaud, Eric Williams, and John Donahue, then
have him listen to the couple thousand fans that each driver has in his corner.

Your uncle will have an all new bench race to run by the time he gets home.

Michaud, Williams, and Donahue have made it rather obvious that they
would like to decide the Late Model “King of
the Road” Track Championship among themselves this season. Michaud
wants to become the first four-time champ in
the division and only the second four-time Thunder Road Track Champion
in history. Williams, who has won just
about every major event Thunder Road offers, is looking for his first
Late Model title. Donahue, who is now
emerging as a weekly podium contender, is also searching for
championship number one. Michaud and Donahue each
have a pair of wins already this season, while Williams has three
runner-up finishes, a third, a seventh, and a
tenth in six Thunder Road starts this year (including
American-Canadian Tour events).

Tell that old uncle of yours that, yup, he may have seen some great
racing back in his day, but it looks like
maybe the glory days are taking place right in front of us.

***

Here’s an idea: bring that uncle to the Pepsi Holiday Fireworks
Spectacular on Thursday (July 3). A full card of
ACT Late Models, NAPA Tiger Sportsmen, Allen Lumber Street Stocks, and
Power Shift Online Junkyard Warriors is on
tap, plus the biggest Independence Day holiday fireworks display in
the area. General admission is $9.50 for
adults, $3 for kids (6-12), and just $20 for a family of four. Post
time is 6:30pm, gates open at 5:00pm.

The Michaud-Williams-Donahue trio went 1-2-3 in the CARQUEST Vermont
Governor’s Cup 100 last Thursday evening in
the presence of Gov. Jim Douglas, and now sit 1-2-3 (actually, 2-1-3,
if we’re going in order) in championship
points. Defending “King of the Road” Dave Pembroke sits fourth in
points ahead of multi-time champ Phil Scott,
sophomore Chip Grenier, and veterans Jamie Fisher, Joe Becker, Trampas
Demers, and Shawn Fleury.

NAPA Tiger Sportsman driver Brendan Moodie committed a crime at
Thunder Road, and he’s making no apologies. He’s
been charged with theft of a 30-lap feature win. Moodie, who at 23
years old is already a veteran with a decade’s
experience behind him, absolutely stole the show away from leader Josh
Lovely in the final corner at the CARQUEST
Governor’s Cup, using the lapped car of rookie Josh Demers as a pick
in Turn 4. Moodie dove low when perhaps
Lovely expected otherwise, and the three drag-raced
door-to-door-to-door to the finish line. If Moodie won by a
foot, that may be an exaggeration.

Lovely posted his best finish of the year in second, but don’t expect
the sting to go away until he carries the
checkered flag himself. As an eight-time winner in the Sportsman
class, Lovely certainly knows how to get the job
done. Lance Allen came home third for his second top-three of the season.

Travis Hull committed a similar theft in the Power Shift Online
Junkyard Warrior division, taking the win away
from lead contenders John Prentice and Kevin Dodge on the white flag
lap. Prentice held on for a career-best
second, while Scott Weston snuck in for third. Dodge, in just his
third start, was fourth.

Jason Corliss took his second career Allen Lumber Street Stock win
over Garry Bashaw, Dave LaFleche, Tim Campbell,
and Lloyd Blakely.

The ACT Late Model Tour was rained out at White Mountain Motorsports
Park on Saturday. Qualifying heats were run
before rain washed the balance of the program away. Heats were won by
rookies Nick Sweet and Jonathan Urlin,
former ACT Champion Brad Leighton, and young up-and-comer Pete Potvin.
The White Mountain 150 will be completed
on Saturday, August 2. Pit pass wristbands will be honored at no
charge on the make-up date. Grandstand tickets
will be honored with a $5 surcharge at the front gate on August 2.

The S?rie ACT Castrol was also rained out (for the second time) at
Autodrome Montmagny Speedway in Qu?bec on
Sunday. No make-up date has been announced as of press time.

Next up is the AUTOPRO 150 at Autodrome St-F?licien for the S?rie ACT
Castrol on Saturday, July 5 at 7:00pm. The
Castrol cars have been absent from the half-mile tri-oval since 2006,
and their return is among the most highly-
anticipated events on the northern schedule.

The ACT Late Model Tour heads west to Ontario’s Kawartha Speedway on
Sunday, July 13 for the 5th Annual Summer
Sizzler 200. If you didn’t travel out for ACT’s inaugural Kawartha
visit last year, you missed out big time.
State-of-the-art everything, including indoor grandstands with
closed-circuit television coverage of the race, an
award-winning restaurant, and phenomenal side-by-side racing. And did
we mention horse racing on Saturday and a
slot casino on-site? Don’t miss it!

***

Congratulations to ACT part-timer Eddie MacDonald on his victory at
New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH.
MacDonald and crew chief Rollie Lachance took a little under-funded
New England-based team and beat the DEI,
Gibbs, Hendrick, and Childress cars in an exciting race, just like it should be.

MacDonald says that now that half of his summer’s two goals are
complete, he’ll go after completing the other
task ? winning the TD Banknorth 250 at Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway
on Sunday, July 20. The biggest one-day
short track race in America will pay a guaranteed $25,000 to the
winner, plus $100 for each lap led.
ACT’s “Rocket” Roger Brown was thrust into the national spotlight with
his 250 victory last summer.

How big is the TD Banknorth Oxford 250? Ask Daytona 500 winner Kevin
Harvick, who has built his own ACT-legal
Late Model with the sole intention of winning at OPS. For more
information on the race, including ticket ordering
information, visit www.oxfordplains.com. (And by the way, for our
money, the party on Saturday night ain’t half
bad, either. But nobody asked.)

***

Not much to report on the “ACT Tracker” this week, since most places
were rained out. We would like to give a
belated congratulations to S?rie ACT Castrol driver Dany Ouellet on
his 50-lap victory at Autodrome Montmagny on
June 22. Other Castrol drivers in the field were ?ric St-Gelais
(3rd), rookie Patrick Hamel (4th), Bob Hudon
(6th), Kevin Roberge (9th), Jacques Poulin (10th), St?phane Lecours
(11th), St?phane Durand (12th), and Jonathan
Desbiens (13th). Also, back on June 20 at Kawartha Speedway, ACT
part-timer Brandon Watson finished 3rd in the
Kawartha/Capital City Summer Shootout Series, a 6-race big-money
series. Other ACT drivers included Steve Munro
(9th), Justin Holtom (15th), and Spencer MacPherson (16th).

Did you know??

-Through six events at Thunder Road in 2008, only ten drivers have
qualified for every NAPA Tiger Sportsman
feature. They are, in order of point standings through the CARQUEST
event, Craig Bushey (1st), Tom Therrien
(2nd), Joey Laquerre (4th), Tony Rossi (9th), Matt Potter (10th),
Derrick O’Donnell (11th), Eric Badore (13th),
Mark Barnier (14th), Ricky Roberts (15th), and Jimmy Hebert (19th).
32 drivers have attempted to qualify for
every event.

-It’s not much easier in the Allen Lumber Street Stock division, where
only 15 of the 23 drivers to have raced
every event have made all six features this year. They are Jason
Corliss (1st), David Allen (2nd), Lloyd Blakely
(3rd), Mike Martin (4th), Erik Steel (5th), Tim Campbell (6th), Justin
Gordon (8th), rookie Mike MacAskill (10th),
rookie David Whitcomb (11th), Gary Mullen (12th), Garry Bashaw (13th),
Tommy Smith (14th), Steve Mandigo (15th),
rookie Brett Pierce (17th), and Markus Farnham (22nd).

-In the “even tougher” department, try the ACT Late Model Tour. Only
nine of 22 “100%ers” have made every feature
so far (not including those qualified for the White Mountain 150).
They are Scott Payea (1st), Jean-Paul Cyr
(2nd), Patrick Laperle (3rd), John Donahue (4th), Randy Potter (5th),
Brent Dragon (6th), Pete Potvin (9th), Scott
Dragon (11th), and Jamie Fisher (14th).

Tight Points Battle as PASS South Heads to Greenville-Pickens

Posted in: Latest News | | No Comments »>

CHARLOTTE, NC (June 30 2008) ? Entering Thursday’s running of the 3rd
Annual Firecracker 125 at Greenville-Pickens (SC) Speedway, the Pro
All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models are in the midst of
the most competitive season in the series’ three year history.
Through the first five races, there has not been a repeat winner.
Corey Williams was the winner at Hickory (NC) in April and each of the
next four drivers to win races were first time winners: Perry Brown at
Watermelon Capital (GA), Zach Stroupe at Motor Mile (VA), Trevor
Sanborn at Orange County (NC), and Alex Haase at Wake County (NC).
Furthermore, the top four drivers in PASS South points are only
separated by 32 points. Included among those four drivers is second
place point man Heath Hindman, still searching for his first win of
2008.

“I feel like we’ve had one or two get away from us this year,” said
Hindman, who calls Signal Mountain, TN home. “I think we could’ve
won, but we’ve either waited too long to go or were just a little bit
off. We were faster than [Haase] at Wake County, but we needed a
caution to catch up with him and just never got it.”

2007 was a real breakthrough season for Hindman and his 3 Stooges
Racing team. After starting the year out as a relative unknown to
PASS South competition, Hindman closed out 2007 as a favorite to win
in every race. Heath finished the season fourth in points with a win
at Hickory in September and five top ten finishes. However, last
year’s Howler 150 at Greenville-Pickens Speedway was not one of the
brighter moments for Hindman and his team as they struggled to finish
14th.

“We just had way too much motor last year at Greenville,” said
Hindman of the 18:1 ratio built motor the 91 team utilizes. “Even
though Greenville’s a half-mile, it’s got those big, flat, sweeping
corners and all we did was spin the tires off the corner. We were
okay in practice, but we couldn’t get the power to stick in the race.”

Now, Hindman and the rest of the PASS South contingent hope to try
and learn more about Greenville-Pickens Speedway in the Firecracker
125. Some might think that the track will be quite different in July
than it was in October. And why not? Track temperatures will be at
or near 100 degrees much of the day on Thursday and the Firecracker is
25 laps shorter than October’s Howler. Hindman, though, is gambling
that the old track will not be as different as some of his competitors
might think.

“You’re still going have to get the power down,” said Hindman. “I
know it sounds weird, but we’re gonna take some power out of the
engine compared to what we had in October. If you’re spinning the
tires off the corners, it won’t do you any good. The other thing we
will have to deal with is those flat corners. You can still be too
tight. Hopefully, we can get the set up right and get a win.”

No matter what, Hindman and the rest will have there work cut out if
they want to win the Firecracker 125. Among the favorites will be
PASS South points leader and winner of last year’s Firecracker at
Peach State Speedway, Corey Williams, Wake County winner Alex Haase,
and Georgian Justin Wakefield, winner of the final NASCAR Southeast
Series race ever held at Greenville-Pickens back in 2006. Other
contenders include Perry Brown, Dean Clattenburg, and Mark Gibson.

The 3rd Annual Firecracker 125 will be held on Thursday, July 3rd with
gates opening at 1 PM, PASS South practice at 3 PM, and qualifying at
6 PM. Racing for the Chargers and Renegades will kick off at 7 PM and
the green flag for the Firecracker 125 will drop at approximately 9:15
PM. Following the Firecracker 125 will be one of the largest
fireworks displays in South Carolina. Greenville-Pickens Speedway is
located just off the Calhoun Memorial Highway in Easley, SC.

Also, the second race of the PASS National Series will be held on
July 18-19 at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, NC. The Southern
Sizzler 200 will feature the top Super Late Model drivers in the
country racing for $10,000 to win. Also in action will be the Late
Model Stock cars racing for 150 laps and $3,500 to win.

SPEEDWAY 95 NEWS RELEASE June 28th, 2008

By Bill DaButler

(Hermon, Me) Clouds surrounded Hermon, but the rain stayed away, for
the second week in a row, from Maine’s Family Fun Track, Speedway 95.

The Pro-Limited division went caution-free with Bradley’s Deane Smart
at the front of the field. Rookie Roland “J.R. Rockin’” Robinson of
Stueben improved from last weeks third place finish, to grab the
second spot. Brenton Parritt of Stueben was sidelined for the heat
race, due to a mechanical feature, but joined the field in a borrowed
car, from his brother Mike Parritt, also of Stueben to take third. The
win puts Parritt in first place, by 84 points over Duane Seekins of
Stockton Springs.

Kris Watson of Hermon restarted his winning streak with a win in the
Super Street heat race, and then starting at the rear, he picked up
the feature win as well. Artie Maguire of Bucksport crossed the line
for second, with Travis Beale of Winterport in third in the caution
free race. Watson has a commanding points lead, 111 points over
Franklin’s Mike Overlock.

There was a Rookie at the front of the field at the end of the
Strictly Street race, Steuben’s Wayne Parritt. Jr. earned the first
win of his career at the track edging out Brad Norris of Ellsworth and
another rookie, Bangor’s Shawn Hamel, II, who finished second and
third respectively. Jordan Pearson of Glenburn was running in second
trying to pass for the lead when he blew a tire forcing him to take a
seventh place finish, but retains the points lead, by just 20 points
over Parritt.

There was only one caution in the Sport-Four race. Pole sitter and
defending champion Lewis Batchelder led much of the race, while Steve
Moulton of Glenburn worked his way to the front of the field to take
the lead away and grab the win, his second win in a row in the
Sport-Fours. Batchelder settled for second, and David Green of Hampden
scored the third place trophy.

A blown tire plagued the race for Jordan Pearson in the Strictly
Streets, ironically, earlier in the evening; the same problem came up
for Pearson in the final lap of the Full Sized Truck race. He had been
trying to pass Ernie “Big Ern” Wallace of Winterport from the inside,
when Pearson lost his tire. Luckily, Pearson had enough cushion
between him and the third place car of Anthony Moore of Brewer to hold
the second spot.
